I was always active and began working with athletes when I was 16, by coaching gymnastics. I started teaching fitness as a university student and after I married a military member we started moving a lot, it was a great job as it was easy to find work, allowed me to work while I had young kids, and helped me meet people in each new city. Because I’ve had the benefit of living in many places, I’ve had the privilege of working with a broad range of people, including young athletes, seniors, firefighter and police recruits, weekend warriors, and everything in between.
Being in the fitness industry for 35 years and teaching multiple classes each day, I found I had to purposefully plan classes to help minimize my risk of injury. The more I focused on this for myself, the more I understood the importance of injury prevention for the general population and began to look closely at what I could add to my classes to help the people I work with age well, regardless of their current age. Balance, mobility, and exercises that provide stability and reduce injury risk have all become an integral part of my classes and a focus for myself to help me and my clients age well.
Chris loves helping people stay fit and age well while preventing injuries.
