I have spent most of my career working in fitness. I ran a fitness facility for many years and saw firsthand the benefits exercise can have on physical, mental, and emotional health. I love working with people to help them reach their goals. Discovering a person's "why" is a focus of mine to help me better understand how to make exercise intentional and fun.
I struggled in school as a child. School was not a happy place. I couldn’t wait until after school to hop on my bike, play with my dogs and get out in nature. In nature, moving around and exploring with friends and my animals is where I felt at peace and where I belong. This is where I could quiet my mind, feel grounded and at peace. I learned later that I have ADHD and other learning disabilities, and traditional school learning is not how I learn or process. It’s through movement and kinesthetic experience I learn.
I found that same grounding in yoga.
I took my first yoga class as an exercise modality. I had no idea that I would I walk out with the same relief I felt as a child playing outside. I fell in love instantly. I became formally trained and love being able to provide others with that same relief. Today, I view my ADHD as an asset that helps me to be more empathetic and reach clients where they are at.
I love keeping people moving and promoting active lifestyles. I want to be able to pick up 50-pound bales of hay without thinking about it, climb a steep hill, play in the water and explore my world physically. I want others, to achieve the goals they set for themselves or be able to participate in the activities they love to the fullest.
